Born in Melbourne, Australia in 1971, Jon(athon) was a natural at art (and LEGO). He studied sculpture and painting at the age of 18 and began exhibiting in solo and group shows around Melbourne, in a wide range of non-traditional art venues. He has continued over the years to create a large body of diverse genres of creative work, from digital photography to wood carving, 3D collage painting to computer design, clay sculpture to airbrushing, breaking free from the limitations of being a certain type of artist, he instead likes to be referred as a Creator.
The name JonRa is a play on the word Genre, meaning of a kind, field, category, sort or style. –these are really limiting boxes. JonRa is exploding the “put it in a box” mentality.. “I like to think my genre is the entire creation.. This is why I call my brand/ business JonRA Creations. I thus have all of time, space and everything inspiring from earth’s history to draw my inspiration from. My inspiration can be influenced by anything from nature to 10,000 year old Aboriginal cave paintings, from Cubism to Popular Culture, Renaissance painting to ancient artefacts, Pop Art to high tech computer animation.. anything and everything from the past, present and perhaps future. Thus I am free to create whatever I want to create… I believe we are all essentially free to do this, but we just don’t realise it yet !” -JonRa explains.

At 17 years old, his first major (large) creation was restoring this rare 1949 Austin A40 Countryman station wagon - This became his first car and where he got the nickname "Art Duco".
-JonRa would like to give special thanks for the assistance and motivation of this restoration by his "old man", Barry!
